Daniel Bodkin's mission is to turn the hearts of the sons and daughters of this generation to the Heavenly Father.

Lavished by His Love

If there is one thing that this generation needs to experience, it is the love of the Heavenly Father. There is so much brokenness, sin, hurt, sexual confusion/perversion, and hopelessness in this generation because they are being raised as a fatherless and Fatherless (Godless) generation. Parents, who is raising your children? Hollywood? Music artists that promote sexual perversions, filthy language, abuse to women, hatred, anger, and their videos/performances being nothing but pornography? What are you letting into your home and you do not even know it? How about the youth pastor at the church you dump them off at and expect him/her to babysit them while you do not know the Lord yourself?

Raising a child in the ways of the Lord does not mean that they went to church and that was it. That has become the definition of being raised in a Christian home for today. Friends, even demons attend church, and quite frankly, demons also lead many churches. Being raised in a Christian home means they were mentored in the ways of the Lord in the home and were taught to burn for God in the secret place. We have raised a generation to be church attenders until their college years and nothing more. They were fed dead, dry religion instead of feeding on the Word of God, the body, and blood of Christ. They were indoctrinated with church rhetoric instead of baptized in the Holy Ghost and fire. They need to be raised as lovers of Christ Jesus, not church attenders given regurtitated denominational lawlesness.

We wonder why our generation is so broken and confused, but it is because they do not have the love of God in their homes. This generation has not been raised up in the ways of the Lord. Who is teaching this generation to pray? Who is teaching them to love God and to love His word? Who is teaching them to be filled with the Spirit and to have the fire of God shut up in their bones? Who is teaching them sound doctrine so that they will not be swayed by the false doctrines of demons in the church? Who is teaching them to lay hands on the sick, cast out demons, and to walk in the miraculous? WHO? Even if this generation is not being raised up in the ways of the Lord by their birth parents, God is placing the heart of the Father in true Holy Ghost men and women of God to be spiritual fathers and mothers to this generation. I do not know about you, but my heart breaks and beats for the this lost generation. Give us the ones who are broken, hurt, lost, and rejected. Give us the drug addicts, alcoholics, and gang members. The love of God will transform them into fire filled revivalists that will shake their cities with the fires of awakening! There is no one too far gone that Jesus cannot save! His blood covers all sins. He makes ALL things new! In Him, there is hope for the hopeless. Peace for the restless. Life for the lifeless.

It may sound peculiar to use these verses for this idea of being “lavished by His love” because “love” is not even mentioned here. However, the loving heart of the Father is revealed in this passage of Scripture. Take a look, and you will see the loving heart of God towards his children.

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Isn’t there more to life than food and more to the body than clothing? 26 Look at the birds in the sky: They do not sow, or reap, or gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you more valuable than they are? 27 And which of you by worrying can add even one hour to his life? 28 Why do you worry about clothing? Think about how the flowers of the field grow; they do not work or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his glory was clothed like one of these! 30 And if this is how God clothes the wild grass, which is here today and tomorrow is tossed into the fire to heat the oven, won’t he clothe you even more, you people of little faith? 31 So then, don’t worry saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ 32 For the unconverted pursue these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But above all pursue his kingdom and righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 So then, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today has enough trouble of its own.
— Matthew 6:25-34 (NKJV)

One of the greatest experiences you can have on this earth is to be lavished by the love of God, your Heavenly Father. He will take care of you because he loves you. He desires and longs to be with you, spend time with you, talk to you, show you new things, and for you to talk to him. There is no greater place to be than in the arms of the Father. If he takes care of the birds of the air and the lilies of the field, how much more will he be there for you out of his everlasting love for his children?

You, yes, YOU are on God’s heart. His heart is turned towards you and beats for you. He gave us the greatest gift in all of eternity, that is his Son, Jesus Christ. God gave Christ to us because he loves us. Romans 5:8-11 says, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. 10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 11 And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.” Even before we were born, Jesus died for us. He looked that far into the future and saw YOU. He died for us while we were in sin in order for us to become without sin! The love of God sets us free from the bondage of sin because we forsake every other idol, god, and sin just to be with HIM because we love him! We love him because he first loved us (1 John 4:19). Praise God!

It was love for YOU that drove Jesus to the cross. It is out of his love that he gives us the opportunity to be free from sin and to have communion with God now on earth and for all of eternity. It is out of his love that he comforts, heals, provides, and protects his children. It is also out of his love that he corrects us and spanks us.

His love is a reciprocal love. He desires for you to love him. He longs to be loved by you! The question, friend, is do you love him? Do not just shrug that question off with a simple “yes.” Think about it. Chew on it. Let it come from deep within. Do you TRULY love Jesus? If you do, then you will be living a crucified life. If love drove Jesus to the cross, then the love of God will drive you to the cross. You will want to be like him and be with him. You will want to be holy as he is holy. You will keep his commandments, and your entire life will be devoted to him. You will not act the same, talk the same, or go to the places you use to go because you love him more than sin. You will spend time with him and long to just be alone with him. You will do whatever it takes just to get alone with him and be in his Presence! Now, think back to that question again. Do you love him? It’s time to start.

Maybe your love has grown cold. You need to rekindle your love for him. Ask him for a fresh baptism of his love. Ask him to lavish you in the love of the Father. When you experience his fiery love towards you, it will ignite a fiery love towards him! You will never be the same after you encounter the love of God. Let his love change you! There is one thing you need to get into your heart, and it is this: He loves you! He loves you! HE LOVES YOU! It is time for you to love him! Get lavished by His love!

You may have heard this song many times, but listen to it again and let the love of God lavish you. Soak in his Presence and love!  How He Loves Us
