It's Time for You to Die
The danger we see in much of the modern church is preaching without the cross; it is essentially preaching without offending the flesh. There is the emphasis of the love of God without the judgment of God. There is only talk about heaven, but no warning of hell. There is forgiveness without repentance, and grace without holiness. There is only blessing with no call of sacrifice. There is only talk of God as comforting Father and not as Holy God, the All Consuming Fire, who will judge the living and the dead. The “prophets” only prophesy “smooth things” but never confront rebellion (Isaiah 30:8-12). Abominations are allowed in the house of the Lord because ministers would rather bow their knee to culture rather than bow their knee to the Living God. Much of what is preached is "another gospel" that is not being confronted because of the slow fade of accepting water instead of wine, comfort instead of conviction, powdered milk instead of meat, and entertainment instead of power. If there was ever a time in history that the world needed the fires of revival and awakening, it is now. We need the baptism of the Holy Ghost and fire!
The enemy has come in a wave of deception over decades to slowly steer you off course for you to be able to tolerate dead preachers delivering dead messages to dead congregations. Much of what you will hear are stories, jokes, and self-help sermonettes that comfort the flesh but never radically transform you by the fiery sword of the Word of God. I ask you, when is the last time you went to a meeting and the holiness of God’s presence was so intense that all you could do was tremble and fall on your face? When is the last time you felt the loving conviction of the Spirit of the Lord by a message from the pulpit where the minister was challenging you to “come up higher” and to crucify your flesh? For many, they cannot remember being in a meeting like this because they have become a rarity, for now, in the land.
The danger in the modern church is that the flesh is not offended enough, if at all. In fact, your flesh is suppose to be dead. The true Gospel of Jesus Christ says you have to die in order to live (Romans 8:13). Flesh/sin cannot inherit the Kingdom of heaven (1 Corinthians 6:9). We have forgotten that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is about freedom from sin and not freedom to sin. To be a true follower of Christ, it requires sacrifice. It requires the call to be holy as he is holy (1 Peter 1:16). The blessings of God come from obedience to his Word; they come from loving him with all of your heart so that you desire to follow his commandments (John 14:15). God has never blessed rebellion. He can redeem you from rebellion by the washing of his blood, but he does not bless what he has called profane.
To make things simple and to the point: It's time for you to die. You cannot call yourself a follower of Jesus and love the sin of the world (1 John 2:15). You are not a follower of Christ if you have not taken up your cross, died to your sin, and accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, no matter how long you have attended church or how many services you have gone to. There is no access to the Father except through the cross of Jesus. We must get back to preaching the cross, the shedding of the blood of our Lord. It is only through his blood that we are made righteous as our sins are forgiven. Jesus went to the cross to be the atonement of our sins, but he also went to show us how to die.
Friend, it’s time for you to die.
